

Bill was born in Akron, Ohio to Harold Dayre Lias and Grace (Black) Lias, the oldest of 12 children.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lias was preceded in death by his devoted, dedicated and ever loving wife of 71 years, Emma LaRue (Thomas) Lias, two brothers, and two sisters of the Akron, Ohio area.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Ann Greene and her husband, Dr. Robert L. Greene of Glen Allen, VA, and his son, Brian Lias of Brookford. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, two brothers, two sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was a loyal member of Abernathy Memorial Church in Newton and formerly had been an active member of Lenoir First United Methodist Church. Since retiring, and while still able, he devoted time and resources to some of those in need and less able on their own.
On discharge from the Transportation Corps of the U.S. Army in 1947, Mr. Lias returned to complete 43 years of dedicated service for the Carborundum Co. of Niagara Falls, NY.
A Memorial Service at Spirit Place Chapel of Abernethy Laurels will be announced at a later date.
