Wilton Earl Hughes

Wilton Earl Hughes gained his wings on Monday, August 3rd at 3:24pm. He was born January 7, 1940 in Roseland, Louisiana to Johnnie Elmer Hughes and Floy Brumfield Hughes. Wilton married Sandra Rose Hughes on December 3, 1960, they were married for 60 years.

Those preceded him in death are his parents; wife, Sandra; daughter, Linda Hughes Benfield; sisters, Evelyn Steven (Steve), Viola Cody (Gene), Isabel Eldridge, Frances Hughes, Wanda Davis; and brother, Alton Hughes.

Wilton is survived by daughter, Cheryl Green (Noble); son, Ronald Small; grandsons, John Easley (LaTanya), Andrew Benfield; great grandchildren, Isabella Woodard, Alexander Easley, Hinara Easley, Kori Lee; sister in law, Patricia Hughes; son in law, Rodney Benfield, and he is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at Oxford Baptist Church, 5965 Springs Rd., Conover, North Carolina 28613, on August 15, 2026, at 10:00 am.
