It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Alexander “Alex” Christopher Diaz, age 36, of Conroe, TX. Alex was born on July 23, 1989, in Houston, TX and tragically passed away on August 18, 2025. He was the beloved son of Gladys and Edward Diaz.
Alex graduated from Spring High School, class of 2007, where he met and later married his high school sweetheart, LaTiegre, affectionately known as “TJ”, on April 12, 2013. Both were in the school band where Alex was an exceptional Oboe player and an enthusiastic drumline member during the marching season.
A proud graduate of Sam Houston State University with a Master of Science in Mathematics, Alex was newly married when he accepted a corporate position based out of Madison, WI. After several cold winters, he landed a new job in Austin, TX which further led to an opportunity to be closer to family in Conroe, TX. His intellect and talents led him to a successful career, but he eventually transitioned to working alongside his wife in their thriving real estate business. At the time of his passing, Alex was at the peak of his professional life, surrounded by the love of his family and the success he had worked so hard to achieve.
Those who knew Alex admired his natural gift for learning—he could quickly pick up anything he set his mind to, including learning Japanese, Spanish and ASL (American Sign Language), he also taught himself to play the Guitar, Piano and Ocarina among other instruments. One of his most recent endeavors was doing ear training with music.
A loving and dutiful husband and father, Alex adored his wife and kids and truly enjoyed spending time with them. He was a fun dad who enjoyed playing with the kids, especially when it came to video games. This was an integral part of his life. He loved games from the moment he could get his hands on a controller, and who can forget his high school DDR (Dance-Dance Revolution) phase. As an adult, he often participated in game nights with his brother and friends which could run on for hours.
He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Mary Theresa “Terry” Avila, and his adoring great-grandparents, Lucy “Nanny” and Henry Avila, Dolores “Momo” and Joe Cruz “Popo” Diaz, Bertha and Rene Ramos, Dora and Sergio Barrera G. Sr.
Alex is survived and missed by his loving wife, LaTiegre “TJ” Diaz, and their three children, Tora Jane (15), Tiegon Axel (11), and Atlas Rose (8). He is also survived by his parents, Gladys and Edward M. Diaz, his brother, Christian Diaz and his grandparents Maria and Sergio C. Barrera, and Edward G Diaz.
Alex’s legacy will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but for the joy, love, and laughter he brought to all who knew him. There are no words to express how deeply he will be missed by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
A celebration of life for Alex will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303.
