Ana was born July 11th, 1951 in Monterrey Mexico to Mario and Maria Sanchez. The third-born and first-born daughter, she was the last of her nine siblings to be born in Monterrey. When she was four years old, her family immigrated to Houston, Texas. She attended Dow Elementary School, and Christ the King Catholic School, where she made her first American friends. She later attended Hogg Junior High and Reagan High School, where she met her husband and father of her children. She married Louis Ramirez June 19th 1971 at St. Patrick’s Church in Houston, Texas. In December 1971, her father-in-law died, and she assisted her husband in assuming the family jewelry business where she dutifully served as a skilled engraver. She gave birth to her first child, Gabriela in December of 1972. She gave birth to her second child, Louis, Jr., in September of 1975. Her third child, Nicolas was born November of 1981. In 1981, she converted to Protestantism, and her faith and personal relationship with God remained very important to her for the remainder of her life. She continued her pursuit of faith and God adopting many Jewish celebrations and traditions. Family was always important to Ana, and in 1995, she moved to Longmont, Colorado to join five of her siblings and their families who recently moved there. In 1999, she moved down to Houston, where her two adult children already lived. Nicolas joined as well after graduating high school in August of 2000. Through the years, she resided in several states including Texas, Washington, New York, North Carolina, and finally settling in East Texas. Throughout her life, those around her could not help but befriend her, laugh with her, and love to spend time with her. She had a heart to serve people everywhere she went. She connected with people easily, and seized the opportunity for fun, adventure, and food. In September of 2021, she contracted COVID, and eventually needed to be hospitalized. Her body never recovered, and on October 21st, she passed away. The words “fun and loving” only begin to describe her, and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Her memory will be for a blessing.
