Barbara Jean Hughes

Barbara Jean Sherling Hughes was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on October 25, 1938. She had a lengthy illness, she lived in her home until she went to be with the LORD. Her loving husband, Walther Lee Hughes of Huntsville was at her bedside. They married in 1964 and were able to share 49 + years of marriage. She knew the Lord as her Savior and among many songs she loved In the Garden. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Hazel Sherling, Margie Lawson, Marie Sherling, her father Eugene Sherling, her little brother, Paul Douglas Sherling, and a granddaughter, Telisa Brianne Jean Walden. She is survived by her Husband, Walter; 5 children, Rena Long, Shari Moore, Duane Walden, Eugene Hughes, and Sabrina Williams; 7 grandchildren, Jeremy Long, Justin McGonigle, Jackie McGonigle, Kasey Williams, Brandon Walden, Joseph and Mara Moore; 8 great grandchildren, Audrey, Matthew and Natalie Long, Casandra and McKenzie McGonigle, Brayden Walden, Hunter and Levi Soria and Allison Mansell; her siblings Margaret Garcia, Sue Decker, and Jesse Sheriling; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Barbara spent her life as a fulltime mother and wife. She loved children, crocheting, and quilting. Viewing will be held, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 8:00 A.M. with Funeral Services at 10:00 A.M. at Abundant Life Church, 1278 US Hwy 190 E, Huntsville, Texas, 77340.
