Barbara Elaine Poissoit, born on August 2, 1945, to Olen and Vera Steele went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 30, 2025. She passed away in Conroe, TX. Barbara was raised in Dickinson, TX. She moved to Conroe, TX with the love of her life, Jimmie Poissoit whom she was married to for just shy of 54 years. Barbara received her Master’s degree in education from Sam Houston State University and taught for 34 years before retirement. 33 of those years were for Conroe Independent School District.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jimmie Poissoit, her daughter Dianna Poissoit, her parents Olen and Vera Steele, and her sister Bettye Steele Johnson. She is survived by her son Dennis Keith Poissoit and wife April Poissoit, grandchildren Kyle Poissoit, Kade Poissoit, Jay Poissoit, Haven Poissoit, Ellyn Poissoit, Destiny Oliver, Wade Covington and Zachry Ammons and many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. A private family service will take place at a later date.
