Barbette Ann Roth

April 3, 1973July 11, 2018

Barbette Ann “Barbie” Roth, 45, earned her Angel Wings July 11, 2018 with her parents, Barbette Knobloch and Charles R. Roth, and “Big Brother” Robert J. Roth by her side.

Barbie was born April 3, 1973 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Faced with Trisomy 14 (a hereditary chromosomal abnormality) and Cerebral Palsy at birth, Barbie wasn’t expected to live past infancy, but she defied the odds, until she succumbed to Squamous Cell Carcinoma in her mouth. As a “Navy Brat”, Barbie called several Naval Air Stations home, including Corpus Christi, San Diego, CA, Guam, and Millington, TN where she graduated from school in 1991. Barbie also lived in Ocala, FL, Hammond, NY, and a number of North Houston suburbs, with her final earthly residence in Conroe, TX where she lived with her Mom. Barbie gained many life-long friends, everywhere she went.

Barbie was an avid bowler, having won numerous gold medals in the Florida and Texas Special Olympics. She loved to sing and was a member of the Resound Special Needs Choir at The Woodlands United Methodist Church in The Woodlands, TX. Barbie also belonged to Kiwanis AKTION Club, a service club for adults with disabilities. She spent much time at the South County Community Center, playing Bingo with her Mom. Barbie thoroughly enjoyed crafting and was often found creating something for any given occasion.

Barbie was seldom seen without a smile on her face and had a way of brightening anyone’s darkest day. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. “Big Brother” Robert was Barbie’s biggest fan, having taken his “Boogie Bear” under his wing since the day she was born. Along with her parents and “Big Brother", Barbie is survived by her nephew Riley J. Roth, sister-in-law Kimberly Toal Roth, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other family members and a multitude of friends.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Vitas Hospice Care, Millennium Oncology, Millennium Radiation Center of the Woodlands, Memorial Hermann Hospitals, The Woodlands United Methodist Church and their huge group of friends, for their unwavering love and support during Barbie’s end of life journey. A Memorial Service will be held for Barbette Ann Roth at The Woodlands United Methodist Church, 2200 Lake Woodlands Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77380, at 1:00pm on July 28, 2018. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite Special Needs Organization.

What a lovely memorial service for a beautiful lady! I noticed that Barbie has the same birthday as I do. I will always remember and celebrate her life and spirit on that day. Daniel also wanted to let you know how special it was for him to sing in the Resound Choir with Barbie.

With Love and Prayers to your family,
