Bernadine Pizzitola Taylor, of Conroe, TX, passed away peacefully at her home on December 20, 2023, at the age of 88, with her devoted family by her side. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bobby Taylor, parents- Joe G and Lena Pizzitola, her brother- Tannie Pizzitola, sister Anna Mae Waldrip, brother in law, Donald Taylor, and grandson Christopher Brasher. She is survived by her children Sheryl Taylor, Terry (Ike) Fluellen, Bobby Taylor, Vicky (Tom) Mckenna, Jimmy (Rita) Taylor, and Tommy (Amy) Taylor; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her sister in laws Shirley Taylor and Teresa Raia.
Born in Houston, TX on March 14, 1935, Bernadine grew up helping her family run their grocery store that they also lived behind. At the age of 12 she learned to drive a Model T car and helped deliver groceries for her parents. She also rode horses for fun at her family ranch. For high school she went to St Pius Catholic School before transferring to Reagan High School, where she graduated. After high school she went on to meet and then marry Bobby Taylor, the love of her life, in 1958. She devoted her life to raising her children. She also worked at the Kroger Deli for a time, where she made lifelong friends. Once she was done raising her children, she and Bobby began pursuing their love of travel. Together they traveled the country in a RV for over 20 years, going to every one of the 50 states in America. During her travels she said she saw the glory of God all around- in the mountains, sunsets, sunrise, desert, and rainbows.
Bernadine Taylor was a beloved and cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. She was known for the love she showered on anyone who was blessed to know her. She was a woman of incredible strength, who’s love for her family was only surpassed by the love she had for her Lord. She loved reading her Bible and studying the word. She loved the praise and worship at church and she loved serving and giving of herself to others. She was incredibly tough and cared more about how you were doing than any pain she might be going through herself.
A woman of great faith, Bernadine Taylor wanted to be remembered for her great love for Jesus Christ. Her hope was not in this life, but in the eternal life she was assured of by her faith in Jesus and in His word. She wrote- “Life does not end at the cemetery. There is a future life with God for those who put their trust in His son Jesus Christ. There is also a future hell of separation from God toward which all are going who have refused, rejected, and neglected to receive His son Jesus.”
John 14:1-6- “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going. Thomas said to Him, ‘Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
