Betty ‘Charlene’ Erixon was born December 8, 1941 in Morton, TX to George Everal Spencer and Virgie Reed Spencer. She married Michael Erixon on August 10, 1985, and together they shared their families, including her son, Clyde Randal Reed, and Mike’s daughter, Stephanie Erixon Anderson.
Charlene attended Morton High School, and later continued classes at Lubbock Christian College. In her early years, she and her mother owned and operated an upholstery shop in Morton, while she raised her young son, Randy. After she moved to Lubbock, TX, she went to work as an instructor, planner, and manufacturing engineer at Litton Data Systems. Charlene’s career included 20 years of manufacturing engineering management, and 10 years as a business owner with her son, Randy, and grandson, Randall, in Denver, CO.
She was also exceptionally skilled in a variety of crafts, including cross-stitch, bead work, jewelry, quilting and crocheting. Charlene loved to play golf, board games, cards, and putting together very difficult puzzles. She maintained lifelong friendships with her golf and game buddies. She also loved traveling with husband, Mike, on their many business ventures, vacation trips and cruises.
Above all else, however, she loved being with family, especially during get togethers, reunions and holidays – Christmas was always her favorite time.
