Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Brice Gibson and Clarence Gibson.
Betty attended Houston’s Jefferson Davis High School. She was a member of the ROTC and graduated with honors in 1955.
Being ambitious and ahead of her time, when it came to being a woman in the workplace, Betty pioneered and navigated obstacles, to ultimately enjoy many rewarding positions over her career. She retired in 2002, holding the position of Municipal Court Judge for the City of Shenandoah, Texas, keeping her beloved nickname “Judge Betty”.
Betty always found time to be part of her children’s and grandchildren’s activities, whether it was baseball games, karate sessions, school plays, or anything else they would try to talk her into letting them do. She never discouraged them from trying anything.
Family was so very important to Betty. She NEVER missed an opportunity to express her great pride and love of them all.
One of her many passions was enjoying a cruise. She experienced many voyages with her beloved husband, family members and friends.
Her boisterous laugh, twinkling eyes, trusting nature and sense of goodness and fairness has touched so many lives. Those who knew her appreciate what a lovely, selfless person Betty was. The world has lost a beautiful soul.
