

Betty Louise Rose Thomas, born on June 18, 1949, in the warm community of Conroe, Texas, has been a cherished presence in the lives of many. The daughter of the late Howard Griffin Rose and Betty Jo Dupre, Betty carried forward a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. Raised in a family filled with rich values and deep connections, Betty learned early the importance of family, kindness, and community.
Betty was the beloved wife of Truman "Ray" Thomas, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage beginning on October 7, 1966, in their hometown of Conroe. Together, they spent nearly six decades building a life filled with love, joy, adventure, and cherished memories. Their union was blessed with five children: Tracy Mooney and her husband, Christopher; Miranda Madea and her husband, Michael; Jocelyn "Dannell" Thomas; Wesley Thomas and his wife, Shonda; and Travis Allen Thomas, who preceded her in death. Betty and Ray created a loving and nurturing home where family was always at the heart of their lives.
Betty's legacy continues through her 13 grandchildren: Justin, Dovie, Jacob Lane, Richard, Simon, Jeron, Hope, Leighton, Ronan, Jacob Wesley, Taylor, Ryder, and Maddox, as well as her seven great-grandchildren. She cherished each of them deeply and took great joy in watching her family grow through the generations. Betty's warmth, humor, wisdom, and unwavering love will live on through the generations she nurtured and loved so dearly. Family gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and togetherness were among the many joys of Betty's life, creating cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Howard Griffin Rose and Betty Jo Dupre; her son, Travis Allen Thomas; her beloved grandchildren, Jacob Lane Sanders and Jeron Phillip Mooney; and her siblings, Francis "Diann" Hurst and James Howard Rose. She carried their memories in her heart and honored their lives through the love she continued to share with her family.
Betty's life was a testament to her enduring faith, steadfast love, and the countless lives she touched. She found great joy in cooking and sharing delicious meals with the people she loved, bringing family and friends together around the table. She also had a special love for baseball and enjoyed playing various board and card games, especially when surrounded by family and friends. These simple joys, along with her warmth, humor, and generous spirit, were a meaningful part of who Betty was. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who have had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Funeral Service will take place at Cashner Funeral Home at Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe, TX, on September 23, 2026. Visitation is 9:00 am-10:00 am and the Funeral Service starts at 10:00 am with burial to follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
