Beverly Ann Holder Vornsand was born on September 11, 1936, and passed on to Heaven on January 11, 2019. She lived out most of her life in Willis in her family home built in 1912. She was the loving daughter of J.B. Holder and Orvie Louise “Baby” Holder. She graduated from Willis High School in 1953, Sam Houston State University in 1957, with a Degree in Education and later went back to receive her Master’s Degree. She married her childhood sweetheart, Kenneth Vornsand, November 17, 1957, after he returned home from the Army. Her first daughter, Kathryn, was born in 1963, and second daughter, Dianne, was born in 1966. She taught four years of High School English in Channelview ISD, stayed at home during her daughters’ first years, and then taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Reading in Spring ISD for 24 years. In her retirement, she dedicated herself to serving others through her church and numerous local organizations.
Beverly was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Willis her entire life, a member of the First United Methodist Women’s organization since 1970, and served on most of the boards in the church over the years.
She served on the Willis ISD Board of Trustees from 2007 to 2016 and during that tenure was part of a major expansion of the school system. She was a charter member of the Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association from 1997 to present and a member and Vice President of the Willis ISD Education Foundation from 2009 to present.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Vornsand, of Willis; daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, Kathryn “Kathy”, Don, and Ashley Stakes of The Woodlands; daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren, Dianne, Brice, Cameron and Natalie Peterson of Houston. She had so many friends and relatives that she loved deeply and the family is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers during this difficult time.

She loved her cats, country music, playing canasta, reading, genealogy, travel, history, bird watching, little bottle Cokes, red lipstick, Chanel No. 5, her family and friends, and TEXAS!
