Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas beginning at 1:00 PM with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM, a Graveside Service will follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
Billie was born May 15, 1933, in San Jose, California to Thomas Joseph and Wesly Katherine Mohr Pate. She lived in the San Jose area until she moved to Texas at about 13 years of age. Billie graduated from Galena Park High School in 1950. At her graduation she was paired with a young marine, Mallie Davis, Jr., for the processional. They married July 24, 1953.
Billie and Mallie had four children: Trisha, Carl, Jim, and Kathy. In the early years of their marriage Billie and Mallie lived in Jacinto City. They moved their young family to Pasadena in 1957. In 1964, the family moved to Conroe, Tx, where Billie lived the remainder of her life.
In the early years of her children’s lives, Billie balanced family life as her husband worked, achieved his college degree, and served in the Marine Corp Reserves. Billie joined Mallie in the family business in 1964 and later enjoyed a lengthy career as a secretary for Conroe ISD. After retirement, she traveled with her husband, Mallie, visiting family on both the East and West coasts as well as Missouri and Tennessee.
Billie loved God. She began taking her children to church when oldest was 4 years. She was a member of First Baptist, Conroe, since 1964. She volunteered in Sunday School, ferried children to camps, retreats, events, and choir. She sang in the church choir, played in the ukele band, and enjoyed her Sunday School class. Billie shared her faith and encouraged her children to seek God in life matters. Despite dementia, she continued to talk with God.
Billie loved her children and family. Whether a brownie leader, a den mother, little league parent, or kid transporter, she encouraged her children to be involved in learning, serving, sports, music, 4H, and other creative outlets. She attended football and baseball games, band and choir concerts, made costumes, repaired uniforms, and sewed patches on pant knees, sashes, and sleeves. She used her creative talents to sew dresses for her daughters and created beautiful gowns for herself for the annual Marine Corps Ball. Billie enjoyed cooking for family gatherings.
Flower gardening was an interest as a young adult producing beds full of varying colors of gladiolas. While she enjoyed crocheting and general crafting, she took up painting when she retired. Landscapes and florals were the genres she favored but she dabbled in portraits producing paintings of her husband and each child.
Billie is preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Pate; her father, Tomas Pate; and her husband, Mallie Davis, Jr.
She is survived by her children: Patricia (Trisha) Morrison and Charlie; Carl Davis and wife Catherine; James (Jim) Davis and wife Cyndi; and Katherine (Kathy) Boscarino and grandchildren: Charles (Chuck) Kniffen and wife Sherrie; Cheryl Kniffen; Michael Morrison; Brian Davis; Marie Isenhower and husband, Sam; Jeremy Davis, and wife Jennifer; Joseph (Joe) Davis and wife Stephanie; Tiffany Davis; Anthony (Tony) Boscarino and wife Kelly; and Justin Boscarino and wife, Matty. Billie is also survived by 30 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
