Carey Todd McDowell of Willis,Texas age 54, went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2025. Todd was born June 1, 1971 in Lubbock,Texas to Les and Jean McDowell. He is Survived by his beloved wife Melissa McDowell of 22 years of marriage; his children Ashlyn, Abigail, and William. His mother Jean McDowell, sister Shelley Terrell and husband Keith along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Les and brothers Leslie Jr. and Steve.
Todd joined the Navy at 18 years of age serving during Desert Storm. He traveled the world during his time in the Navy. Once home he received his degree in Culinary Arts and became an Executive Chef. He was an Executive Chef for over ten years. After settling down and starting a family he chose a career with The Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he proudly served for over thirteen years.
Todd was an amazing man that loved his family. Some of his most favorite things to do were fishing, hunting, NHRA, cooking, music, art, and reading books. The thing he loved the most was his family. He was a dreamer, a believer, a protector of all living things, and a lover of life.
Todd had a great sense of humor and he always had a smile on his face. He had an adventurous personality. He was compassionate, loved learning and discovering new things. He loved to experiment with all things in life, and discovering all things in God’s creation. His big teddy bear personality was that backbone of who he was. Todd was a very passionate person and was a very proud father of his three children.
A Celebration of Life for Todd McDowell will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Metcalf Funeral Directors,1801 East White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas 77304.
