Carleen Beeker Gonzalez passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 20, 2026, after fighting a long battle with dementia. Carleen was born in Lafayette, Indiana to her parents Joseph Beeker and Carmen Nichols Beeker on October 6, 1941. She graduated from Otterbein High School in 1959 where she played the flute in the band. Carleen went to Ball State University for a year and decided to come back home to Otterbein. She enjoyed working at her Uncle Milton Nichols auto establishment in Otterbein, and other odd jobs in Lafayette.
She met the love of her life Alfredo Gonzalez, Jr. and married in 1964 in Vacaville, California and enjoyed 55 years of wedded bliss. Carleen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family was her life. She would drop anything she was doing, if her family needed her. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and watching detective TV like Perry Mason, Matlock, and Murder She Wrote. Carleen was the epitome of a Mama Bear and would protect her children and grandchildren with her life. She was the most loving Mother anyone could have asked for and we are honored and blessed to call her Mom.
Carleen moved to Conroe, Texas in 1979 with her family, but always called Indiana her Home. She LOVED Indiana, Purdue University, Basketball, Football, Baseball (New York Dodgers), The Indianapolis 500, watching Tony Stewart Race, but Most of All she LOVED her Family.
Carleen was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Oxford United Methodist Church, and Friendship United Methodist Church. She also was a member of Easter Star in Williamsport, Indiana.
