Carol Kay Waddell

June 23, 1941May 13, 2020

Carol Kay Waddell, age 78, of Willis, Texas left this Earth Wednesday May 13, 2020 with her loving husband by her side. She was born in her grandparents home June 23, 1941 in Jefferson County, Oklahoma to Cleo May Page and Cecil O. Hess. She grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Carol was in the high school graduating class of 1959 and attended OK State for 1 year.

Carol met her husband, Robert W. Waddell in the 8th grade and weathered a wonderful 58 years of marriage together. They had a passion for every dog that needed love and found immense joy in all that nature had to offer. She had always been an artist. She painted in oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Later in her life, she became immersed in needlecraft and garden art. Her garden art enhanced the beauty of the flowers and plants she loved.

Carol is survived by her husband and all those who loved her.

Due to COVID-19 there will be no service at this time.

Hi Bob,
I was very sorry to hear of the passing of your wife Carol, especially since it said you met in the 8th grade, so had a long life together. Marilyn and I will have our 60th anniversary this July 2nd. Attached are a couple of files that have helped me through tough times. Our condolences to you and all of your family in this difficult time.

Carol and I shared some fun and lean times when our husbands were on active duty. She loved spending time with my son Troy. We went to the drive in movies and shared time together. I tracked her down many years later and we had a short visit.

We saw Carol's obituary in the Ponca City News and wanted to let you know we are very sorry for your loss.

You and Carol were good friends in our younger days and we enjoyed the things we did together - you and David with the hunting and a few times including Carol and Betty with a camping trip or just hanging out at your house - returning rental cars to Tulsa, etc. Please know that you are in our prayers. Give us a call if you are ever in the Ponca City area (580-762-1354).
