Carolyn Kay Russell, 88, of Conroe, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026. She was born in Houston, Texas, on September 10, 1938, to Latham and Gertrude (Trudy) Benton. She spent her childhood as an Air Force bratt traveling with her parents to many places. Carolyn went to college at the University of Houston and was a cheerleader. Rooted in family tradition, She was an avid football fan, never missing a Sunday of football binging. Carolyn was a professional shopper in every since of the word. One of her favorite hobbies was gardening, she loved keeping her flower beds and yard beautiful. She loved gardening so much she even was part of a gardening club. The other hobby she really enjoyed was doing crossword puzzles.
Carolyn was married to the love of her life, Donald Russell, for over 20 years. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Donald; and her sister Sherry McReynolds. She is survived by her children Lauren McDonald, Karen Robinson Chavis, Don Russell Jr., Donald Russell, Craig Russell, and Lori Peltier; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Gary Kerley; sister Sue Priestaf and numerous family members and friends. The family will receive friends at Cashner Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00am till 12:00pm.
