Catherine Abercrombie Age 96, also affectionately known as “Kay” by her friends & as “Nannie” by her Grand Children and Great Grand Children, went to meet her Heavenly Father on Monday, November 9, 2015. She passed away quietly in her sleep.
Ms. Abercrombie is preceded in death by her parents Charles Leech and Rosa Whitlock; one sister Evelyn Burch and one brother Floyd Morgan. She is also preceded in death by her son William (Bill) Fullilove and her granddaughter Kimberly Fullilove.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Wingate and her son-in-law John Wingate; 2 grandchildren Karri Dunn and Anthony (Tony) Fullilove; four great grandchildren Cody Dunn, Anna Dunn, Austin Goodman and Gabriel Goodman and 2 great great grandsons Emmitt Rodriguez and Hudson Tannery (Dunn). She is also survived by nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends who cherished her friendship and loved her dearly.
She loved her family but Jesus came first. She was a Godly lady and was always talking to people about the Lord. She was a true steward of God.
She never met a stranger and always had an open door policy for anyone that wanted to come over and have a meal with her. She would always say “come on over and eat some good ol home cookin”. And boy could she cook. She was noted for her Chicken and Dumplings. Everyone that knew her always wanted Kay’s chicken and dumplings.
After she got sick she would say when I am called home do not worry or grieve as we will see each other again someday in Heaven. Always stay true to the Lord.
She told her family that when it is time for her to go she would be sad to leave her family but she was so excited that she was going home to be with her Heavenly Father.
When you leave this world may you walk the streets of Gold in Heaven and know that you are Home.
May you rest in peace my precious Mother. Go enjoy your new Angel wings. I love you.
