Clarice Wilkins Small of Conroe, Texas died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the age of 93. Clarice was born on June 30, 1930 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the eldest child of Grace Mae Phillips and Clarence Wesley Wilkins. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. She will be remembered for her quick wit, dry humor, expert needlework, and love for Blue Bell ice cream. She enjoyed playing bridge and solving puzzles. Clarice is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years Leroy Small, her son David Henry Small, her son Thomas Michael Small, and her brother Ronald Wesley Wilkins. She leaves behind two sons, Douglas Wilkins Small and Richard LeRoy Small of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jason Douglas Small and Danna Small of Houston, Texas and Grace Meredith Parnell and Harris Parnell of Washington D.C.; sister-in-law Carolyn Wilkins of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter-in-law Catherine Small of Washington D.C; many nieces and nephews including Phillip Wilkins, Leslie Wilkins White and Nancy Wilkins Benham; six precocious great-grandchildren; and many other relatives. Her family wishes to thank the staff and Clarice’s many friends at the Tomball Retirement Center for their love and care. Graveside services for Clarice will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 1 p.m. in Garden Park Cemetery, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303.
