Craig Clifton Taylor, 51, passed away on July 4, 2026. Born June 29, 1975, Craig was a man whose steady devotion and generous spirit were felt in quiet, enduring ways by those who knew him. A resident of Magnolia, Texas, he will be remembered with deep respect and lasting gratitude.
Craig’s educational path reflected the diligence and determination that shaped his life. He graduated from Sheffield-Chapin-Meservey-Thornton (SCMT) Community Schools with the Class of 1993, earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Iowa Lakes Community College in 1995, and completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of Northern Iowa in 1997. In 2001, he secured a Senior Claims Law Associate designation, bringing both care and integrity to work that required clear judgment and steadfast honesty.
Professionally, Craig served as a Claims Advocate / Insurance Claims Adjuster with ERGO Next Insurance. Known for his hard work and reliability, he approached his responsibilities with patience and a sincere desire to help others navigate difficult moments. He also gave his time and leadership to his profession, serving as President of the Houston Claims Association from 2014 to 2015.
Craig and Emily met in 2003. They moved from Des Moines, Iowa to Cypress, Texas in 2004 where they lived until they moved to Magnolia, Texas in 2018. They were married on June 1, 2006 in Maui, Hawaii. They had just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Their life together was marked by loyalty, kindness, steadfast love, and a selfless commitment to one another, shared as well with their two Weimaraners, Kohlby Blu and Luke Kash—constant companions in the everyday moments Craig valued most.
Craig was an avid sports enthusiast. He had a passion for memorizing sports statistics. Although graduating from the University of Northern Iowa, Craig was a die hard fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes despite his wife graduating from their rival school, Iowa State University. Craig and Emily were truly “house divided” when it came to sports. Craig also followed the Cincinnati Reds, the San Francisco 49ers, the Houston Texans and the Houston Astros. He enjoyed working out and spending time with his Weimaraners, finding simple joy in routines that kept him close to what mattered. To friends and family alike, Craig was a friend to all—often the one to lighten the room with humor, a well-timed joke, or the playful spirit of a prankster, offered with a kind heart and an unmistakable warmth.
