Dalton is preceded in death by his father, Dalton E. Thomas; his mother, Clara Christina Howe; and his step father, Ray Howe.
Dalton is survived by his loving wife of almost 16-years, Pat Wilson Thomas; his step son, Shawn Patterson; step daughter, Gretchen Murray; Grandson, William Murray; and numerous nieces and nephews. His brothers, Richard Thomas, William “Bill” Thomas and wife Camille; Step brother, Steve Howe and wife Rose; step sisters, Jan Howe and Julie Regmund. Dalton was loved by his extended family and friends.
Dalton also has 3 estranged children, Brandi Shropshire, Michael Thomas and Dustin Thomas.
Dalton lived an exciting life! He was a Golden Gloves Boxer, Bare Back Bronc Rider, and Bull Rider. Bull Riding earned him a scholarship to Tarleton State University where he later transferred to Texas Tech University. After graduation he went on to work for several companies including Joy Manufacturing, Western Company, Cameron where he worked to become the President of Cameron, after retiring from Cameron he went on to buy a company called Vortex Ventures where he was the President, and CEO until he sold the company 5 years later. Upon his retirement he went on to purchase Round Creek Ranch, a working cattle ranch in Kenney Texas, he put lots of love, sweat and tears for 8 years! In the fall of 2021, it was time to go back to Lake Conroe.
Dalton loved Dancing, Travel, Golf, Antique Cars and especially his Corvettes!
A visitation for Dalton will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 East White Oak Terrace, Conroe with a Celebration of Life following at 1:00 PM with Minister Randy Doleman officiating. A graveside service and interment will occur Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, 7301 East Lancaster Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76112.
Please join us after the service in raising a glass of cheer at Papas on the Lake! This was a favorite place for Dalton!
The Interment will follow the next day at Shannon Funeral Chapels Rose Hill Cemetery, Fort Worth, Texas where he will be joined with his beloved father, Dalton E. Thomas.
