

Dan was born on February 23, 1929 in Beaumont, Texas and passed away on October 11, 2010 in Conroe, Texas. He attended Edwards Elementary School and French High School. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1946 and was stationed at Camp Pendleton and El Toro Marine Base in Southern California. Dan was honorably discharged in 1948. After working for three years with the Santa Fe Railroad, he began a new life-long career with the Oil Industry, working himself up to Superintendent of Production and Drilling with Cortez Oil and Gas Company at the time of his retirement.
Dan never met a stranger and was well known for his generosity and love of people. He was never too busy to lend a helping hand to anyone and everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dozier and Minna V. Seibert Parrish, and his daughter, Jerry Farris. He is survived by his wife, Jean Parrish; daughter, Debbie Lowery; son, John Parrish; sister, Margie Cole; brother, Frank Parrish; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
