To the family of Coach Hellard, this breaks my heart to hear of his passing. My prayers go out to your family. As a young child (7-8) my parents took me to your parents swim camp out on Airport road, north of conroe. In which I visit sometimes as it is owned by a friend of mine. Coach became my Biology teacher while in high school at Conroe. He was a great mentor and Brother in Christ.
Lifting you up in our prayers.

Our hearts mourn with yours in the passing of your Dad & our old friend. One special memory I have as he visited us one weekend after Jerry & I were newly married and stationed at Dyess AFB near Abilene. He was already a longtime friend of the Johnson family and I could see why. His laughter and love for life were contagious even while eating anchovy pizza. I was surprised to see he still recognized & remembered me & the Abilene trip when Jerry & I visited a few months ago..

Dave and I were inseparable in our younger days before his Dad took another church in west Texas when he was 11 and I was 12 years old.. We saw the Lone Ranger episodes and one dealt with blood brothers. We both cut our wrist and put our arms together becoming blood brothers. Neither of us ever forgot that.

I love you David. I am sure you are already singing God’s praises. What a beautiful voice you had.
