Debbie was known for her sweet spirit, outgoing personality, and bold, fun-loving nature. She had a way of bringing light into every room she entered, and her presence left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Above all, Debbie’s life was rooted in her deep love and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, trusting in Him completely each day.
Debbie graduated from Bryan High School in 1984 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from Texas A&M University. She then spent many years as a teacher, pouring her heart into her students. Her joyful and engaging spirit made her a natural in the classroom, and she left a lasting impression on the countless lives she helped shape, carrying her faith into all she did and encouraging those around her.
She found her greatest joy in her family. Debbie is survived by her loving husband, Blaine Houdek; her sons, Erik Houdek and Braden Houdek; her daughter-in-law, Victoria Houdek; and her beloved grandson, Kason, who brought her immense pride and happiness. She is also survived by her father, Tommy Vance, and stepmother, Noell Vance, along with her brother, Tim Vance and his wife, Dawn, and her brother, Mike Vance, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Martha (Wells) Vance.
Debbie’s legacy is one of love, faith, and joy. Her greatest desire was for others to know and trust in Jesus Christ as she did. She encouraged those around her to grow in their relationship with Christ and to trust Him fully in all things.
