Diane Dockery Waters, 86, passed away on September 28, 2014 at Cornerstone Long Term Acute hospital in Conroe, TX. She was born March 17, 1928 to John and Camille Dockery. She graduated from Lamar High School and attended Rice University before marrying Richard “Dick” Roy Waters, Sr. on September 13, 1948 and had five children together.
“Gran”, as she was lovingly known as to all who knew her, adored all of her grandchildren (Amy Waters McIntosh, Richard “Rich” III and Lauren Waters, Victoria Waters Povich and Donald Waters, Kelly Eakins Foster, Nate and Kari Eakins, Joshua and Mallory Roitberg) and all 14 great-grandchildren. Their visits and phone calls were the highlight of her days.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son John Dockery Waters and great-granddaughter Annmarie Povich; survived by sons, Richard “Dick” Roy Waters, Jr (Donna) and Robert Dalby Waters (Debra), daughters, Diane Waters Eakins (Brad) and Paula Waters Roitberg, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and sister, Camille Dockery Simpson.
