Dolores Mary Lezak Power passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on December 25, 2022, surrounded by family after her battle with dementia. Dolores was born on September 9, 1938, in Sealy, TX. She attended Sealy High School where she shined as a cheerleader and was honored to be crowned as homecoming queen. After high school Dolores moved to Houston, TX and worked as a secretary.
While in Houston she met Charlie Power, the love of her life, and they were married on October 6, 1963, in Sealy, TX. Dolores was a devoted and loving mother to their 4 children. When they moved to Greenwood Forest and the children were of school age, Dolores was able to return to the workforce as a receptionist and secretary for Klein ISD where she worked at the same schools her children attended. The family enjoyed many beach trips to the Island House on Padre Island and floating down the Comal river in New Braunfels and many other various travel destinations with lifelong friends and family. In 1997 Charlie and Dolores moved to Dallas, TX and Dolores worked for JC Penny corporate office. They retired in 1998 and moved to a lovely home on the golf course in April Sound, in Montgomery TX. Dolores and Charlie enjoyed many happy years of retirement, playing golf, going to happy hours with friends, watching Texas Longhorn and LSU football games, and watching Wheel Of Fortune. Dolores achieved a rare hole-in-one on two separate occasions at the April Sound golf course. She was an active member of both the April Sound women’s club and Republican women’s group.
Dolores had a flare for fashion and wherever she went, she dressed the part. Whether she was watching a football game at home or going to a New Year’s Eve party, she was dressed to the hilt and had earrings to match! Her beautiful smile and personality blessed her with lifelong friendships. Dolores was a devoted “MeeMaw” to her 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She enjoyed many precious hours with them riding in the golf cart, going to the dollar store and McDonalds, swimming in their spa, and having sleepovers. She had a special “toy” closet for the grandchildren to go and get out all their favorite toys while staying at MeeMaw’s house.
Dolores is preceded in death by her husband Charles Power. She is survived by her children Michael and wife Tammy Power of Arlington, TX, Jeff Power and wife Carla of Austin, TX, daughter Lisa Duin and husband Russell of Kingwood, TX, and daughter Brenda Zeiler and husband Chuck of Lago Vista, TX. Dolores was loved and adored by her grandchildren Zachary and Lindsey Zeiler, Evan and Emily Duin, and Sophia and Charlie Power, and great grandchildren Grayson and Hallie Clark.
Pall bearers for the service are Zachary Zeiler, Evan Duin, Charlie Power, Russell Duin, Chuck Zeiler, and Aaron Clark.
