Dad was a Marine, need I say more? There is a saying and it’s true that once you become a Marine it’s for life. The story of my mom and dad goes like this.....My mom was visiting my Uncle J.T. who was friends with my dad. When my dad saw my mom, he turned her around and planted a big kiss on her, the rest is history, 50 years of history together. No wonder my dad had such a difficult time after my mom's passing. My dad was my hero and was truly talented. Even though he never finished High School, he could draft plans for any home and became a general contractor/remodeler, auto mechanic (that’s how he crippled his hands but that didn't stop him) he was also an artist, cook, truck driver, seamstress, yes he did the sewing in our family, and missionary. I wish I would have inherited at least one of the many talents that he had. Did I mention that him and my mom were also great dancers? The most important aspect of his life though, was that he was a believer in Jesus Christ, and he passed that down to his children and grandchildren. And that's why I say once a Marine always a Marine because they have a motto "Semper Fi" which means always faithful, and I believe he was, first to God, family and Country. You will be missed Dad!
