Donald Ray Rollins, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man known for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering loyalty, passed away on March 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love that will carry on for generations.
Donald was born in Houston, Texas on September 9, 1961, and raised in Magnolia, Texas, where he graduated from Magnolia High School. He was a proud and active student-athlete, participating in varsity baseball, football, basketball, and track. Of all his sports, baseball held a special place in his heart—a passion that followed him throughout his life.
From a young age, Donald embodied a strong work ethic. He began working as a paperboy at just 13 years old and went on to become an entrepreneur, opening his first business in 1994. Later in life, he continued to grow professionally, earning his real estate license in 2008 and his inspector’s license in 2009.
On April 25, 1987, Donald married the love of his life, Michelle Rollins. Together they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering commitment. Through their marriage, Donald gained a bonus son, James, whom he raised as his own. They later welcomed their daughter, Lauren, into the world on June 22, 1988. Their life together was full of shared memories, laughter, and deep devotion.
Donald was a man who truly cherished his family. He adored his grandchildren more than life itself and showed up for them in every way—attending beauty pageants, cheering at baseball games, and supporting every milestone. He shared a special bond with his grandson, Brody, helping raise him and creating a connection that will never be broken. He coached baseball and extended his guidance not only to his own family, but to many young athletes and teammates.
He loved his daughter deeply—calling her “the one thing no one could take from him”—and made it a priority to be present at every volleyball game, dance recital, basketball game, and horse show. Above all, Donald cherished and honored his wife, treating her as his queen. He never spoke a harsh word to her and loved her faithfully until his very last day.
Donald also poured into James, supporting him in all he pursued—from art school to working alongside him moving furniture. He made intentional efforts to connect with what James loved, whether that was video games or model cars. They shared time together playing golf and caring for Michelle, building a bond rooted in respect and love.
In his personal life, Donald enjoyed baseball, golf, bowling, helping others, and spending time with his closest friends—especially during their Thursday poker nights. He found joy in simple moments, vacations with Sherry and Vinny, and being surrounded by those he cared about.
Donald was known throughout his community as someone you could call when you needed help—often before you even had to ask. His servant heart, kindness, and willingness to give defined the way he lived his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Frankie Rollins; his sister, Aleta Dee Lynch; and his brothers, Steve and Brad Rollins.
