Dorothy, (Dot) was the heart of the family, which included not only her biological family, but many friends. Once she met you, you were part of the family. She had a servant’s heart and was the first to volunteer to cook, decorate, or clean for any event in which anyone needed help. She was a wonderful cook and had a meal ready for anyone who came through the door. She was Nanny Dot to everyone, not just her grandkids.
Dot loved flowers! She worked many years in the floral industry. She was talented at designing flower arrangements and made the flowers for many of the family’s weddings. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. You would often find her outside working in her yard, admiring her flowers, or observing the wildlife that made a home there.
Dot was proud of her large family, and would tell everyone about them. She loved having friends and family come over to her house, going to eat with them, or traveling with them. She loved blessing people in any way she could and took care of everyone.
