Doug Gamble, born on September 29th, 1960, passed away on July 5th, 2018, at the age of 57. Most remembered with a smile on his face and a song in his heart, Doug left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. The kind of man that once you’ve met him you felt you’ve known him all your life; he never met a stranger. As a motor enthusiast, he greatly enjoyed his 2008 Corvette convertible and traveling regularly with the Sam Houston Corvette Club. He was also a member of the Cut N Shoot Harley Owners Group, and treasured his most recent bike, a 2017 Ultra Limited Harley Davidson motorcycle. When he wasn’t on his Harley or in his ‘Vette, Doug enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, playing guitar and live country music, all of which were experiences he enjoyed still further when sharing them with his beloved wife. More than anything, Doug loved most the titles, “Father” and “Grandfather”, as nothing brought more joy to his life than his child and grandchildren. The light of life he sparked in them will burn eternal as they carry his proud legacy forward for generations to come. Preceded in death by his sister, Julie Renee Gamble; father, Charles Mack Gamble; grandfather, James Edward Sands; and Grandmother, Alice Cleo Sands, Doug Gamble, is survived by his wife, Wendee Nicole Gamble; son, Dustin Eli Gamble; grandson, Jasper Eli Gamble; granddaughter Olive Claire Gamble; mother, Awanda Jean Carnahan; sister, Cindi Gamble Winski; and niece, Amanda Oliver Bayler. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Sunday, July 8th, 2018 from 2-4 pm at the Cashner Funeral Home at 801 Teas Rd., Conroe, Texas 77303.

I always enjoyed listening to Doug play guitar and sing. On the last day of his last visit to our house in SLO, January 2018, I thought to bring Dustin’s cheap guitar down from the attic. The memory of him playing and singing for his grandkids is one that I will always cherish. I could tell how much he loved playing for them too.
