Edwina F. Cross

Edwina (Eddie) Cross (Filanowski) passed away at home early in the morning of Sunday, June 20, 2021 at home. She was born in Derby, Connecticut on March 18, 1939. She lived in Montgomery, Texas with her husband of 48 years.

She is survived bye her husband Oliver Cross, her children Marci and husband Bruce Billock, Donna and husband Frank Guisto, Juanita and husband John Lareau, Joanne Ventre, Deano and wife Lisa Carnevale, Anthony Cross, Marie Cross and Cindi Cross. She is also survived by her 30 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Constance Chaffee, nieces, nephews and other family. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Anna Filanowski, her sister Patty Jeffrey, and her daughter Debbie McIntosh.

She grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Shelton High School in 1956. She was hard working and could do anything she set her mind to. She had a love for family and spending time with them, especially Christmas Eve and sharing her Polish culture. She loved to swim, reading, and bargain hunting at yard sales. She loved crafts and crocheting and would make doll clothing as well as other items. Eddie had a love for dance as a child and even wanted to try out for the Rockettes but was told she did not meet the height requirement. Later in life, she rededicated her life to our Lord and savior. She loved God and church and prayed over her family every day.

Edwina’s memorial services will be held on July 10, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Restoration Church located at 107 Fish Creek Thoroughfare, Montgomery, Texas 77316.
