Dooley, EJ

"We will cross that bridge when we come to it" one of the most often heard phrases used by our Dad; today, Dad crossed that bridge, and family and friends will miss him.

Our Dad, EJ Dooley, 91, of Lone Oak, Texas, died February 12th, 2021. Our Dad was an affable and gregarious man who made friends quickly and was always willing to help anyone. Dad was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, our terrific mother, Reba Nell Morris; his father and mother, Tate and Jewel Dooley and his brothers Arnie Dooley and JB Dooley.

Dad is survived by his two sons and their families Mark Dooley and his wife Robin of Montgomery, Texas; Michael Dooley of Conroe, Texas; his three grandchildren Sean Dooley and wife Megan and Ryan Dooley and wife Jessica, sons of Mark and Robin Dooley; Christopher Dooley and his wife Madison, son of Michael Dooley and three great-grandchildren Carter Dooley and Callie Dooley, son and daughter of Ryan and Jessica Dooley and Charlie Dooley, daughter of Sean and Megan Dooley and two sisters Donna-Kay Dooley-Robinson of Greenville, Texas and Sue Dooley-Luhn of Lone Oak, Texas.

Dad served honorably as a sergeant in the Korean conflict and was co-founder with Tom Zimmerman of Alamo Transformer Supply in San Antonio, Texas, where he worked until he retired.

There will be no formal service; later, a celebration of life will be held with family and friends in Lone Oak, Texas. Dad will be laid to rest in Prairie Valley Cemetery.

In place of flowers, Dad requests that donations please be made to Prairie Valley Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 9273, Greenville, Texas 75401-9273.

The dead in Christ shall rise again- in perfection. "In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed… So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory." (1 Thessalonians 4:13 – 4:14)

EJ was a very special caring and giving person. Ray and I loved our visits with EJ and he and Ray had long phone conversations remembering things of old. EJ could remember things from long ago. He will be greatly missed. I especially loved his laugh. What a day of rejoicing he is having in heaven right now with family and friends and more importantly with our Lord Jesus Christ. We love you EJ and will meet again in the bye and bye.
