Many great memories at the Maddux house on North Pine Street in the 1970s and 1980s.   Lots of card games, poker, dominoes and board games with Billy, David Corbett, Wayne Hudspeth, Breck Adkins, and others.  Mr and Mrs Maddux were always so welcoming and fun to be with.  I last visited Mr Maddux at Christmas 2019, pre-pandemic.  We had some laughs about old times, bowling tournaments with Billy and others and the card games at their house.   I recalled  (and confessedto Mr Maddux) an incident at their house about 1981 when Mr and Mrs Maddux went out of town.  Billy invited me to stay over for the weekend since his parents and Curt were out of town.  I accidentally flooded their entire master bathroom.  Billy and I spent hours soaking up the water with towels and mopping the water up.  Then we had to wash all the towels and stuff on Sunday.  After I confessed, Mr Maddux kinda laughed and said, "Yeah, Keith,  we knew all about that.  Billy told us that Sunday evening after you ate dinner with us and went home. "  Lol.  I had no idea that Billy ever told them about it.  In many subsequent visits to their house, they never mentioned it.   They just invite me back time and time again.  


When Sally and I worked together at Heritage Oaks in 2015, Evan and Sally became my dearest friends. I was the  activity director and Evan would come to our work and help me with most of my activities and drive along to all of our outings. He would load up walkers and wheelchairs into his car so I could fill up the bus with residents. He would move table and chairs for me for my activities and so much more. He helped me and hung out with me during my events and became my buddy. Later, I got the opportunity to be there for him  when he became a resident and he knew he could always come to me for anything.  Sally has always been my BFF since I met her. I have been blessed to be a part of him and his families lives. My heart goes out to Evan’s family as I know that he is going to be missed! I love you Evan and I promise that I will keep giving Sally kisses!
