She was the oldest of five siblings. Evelyn was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth and her sister, Alice. She has left behind her daughter, Debbie Donoho and her grandchildren, Lauren Donoho and Kristen Donoho of the Woodlands, Tx as well as persons having a very special place in her heart, Allysandra van der Dys and Ricky van der Dys, III for whom she was proud to be your “Nan”. Her brother Jesse “Buddy” Weatherly and his family of Bryan, Tx; sister Shirley Crook and family of Pasadena, Texas and sister, Ruby Pyeatt and her family of Ramona, California. There are numerous nieces and nephews who were so much more than that to her. Also Steve Vinklarek, who sat vigil bedside in the hospitals and many trips to and from Dr.’s offices while never putting his needs before ours, always know you are loved.
Evelyn’s life was her family, she enjoyed gatherings and celebrations with them and close friends. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Sister. She was a devoted caregiver to her son, family as well as to persons with Alzheimer's later in her life. Her willingness to do anything for anyone and selflessness will be remembered by all . Those are the memories we will carry as she will forever live in our hearts, never to be forgotten.
Her faith in God was the center of her being and carried her through this life. She spoke of the celebration upon her arrival in heaven with a twinkle in her eye as she would be with her son, Kenneth and other family again.
A special thank you to the wonderful care givers that spent the last few years of her life with her due to her Alzheimer’s, you all have a place in our hearts always.
Funeral Service for Evelyn will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Metcalf Funeral Directors at 2:00pm, with visitation on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 5pm to 8pm.
