Frankie was born November 25, 1927, in Cut and Shoot, TX, the daughter of the late Elijah Franklin Plunk and Ida Chambers Plunk. Frankie was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Groceville, established in June 1950, and was a church member there until her death.
Frankie grew up in Waukegan, Texas, and attended school in Conroe. She graduated from Conroe High School in May 1945, and married the love of her life, Duke Page, in July 1945.Duke was a sailor and still had two years to serve in the US Navy. These two years were spent on base in Galveston and New Orleans, after which the couple returned to Cut and Shoot to build their home and raise their family. Frankie was to live in this home for over sixty-nine years before moving to Carriage Inn, an independent living home in Conroe.
After their children arrived, Frankie attended Beauty School and was a cosmetologist for several years, during which time she attended Sam Houston State University. She achieved a Master's Degree in Education and taught school in the Conroe Independent School District for sixteen years. Frankie had several hobbies which included reading, sewing, crochet, travel and genealogy research. She and Duke loved to travel and traveled quite extensively, making several trips abroad. Their favorite mode of travel, however, was in their fifth-wheel travel trailer, and they traveled to all fifty states and most of Canada. They traveled every summer as their children were growing up, giving them a well-rounded education in U.S. geography. Frankie loved her family very much and liked having them close. She was very proud of the fact that all of the older ones were living a Christ-centered life and were leading their children to do the same. She proudly bore all the affectionate names of Wife, Mother, Mama, Grandma, Nonnie, and G'Ma
