It is with great sadness that the family of Frankie Lee Rule, (Conroe Texas), announce his passing at the age of 52. Following a valiant year long battle with cancer, he was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, early in the morning on Saturday January 25, 2025.
Frankie was born May 27, 1972, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to Janet and Roger Rule. As a child, it quickly became apparent that he was technically and mechanically inclined and followed his father’s love of cars and big trucks. Often ‘assisting’ dad with fixing all sorts of things, he became proficient handling tools at an early age. He began building his first car at the age of 13 out of scraps, and parts and pieces he was able to scrounge up. Born from this was his 1959 Ford Fairlane, which was passed down to his youngest brother when he himself turned age 16. This car still remains in his passion today.
Spending his young adult years working on cars and drilling wells with his father and grandfather, eventually led to him leaving Colorado and falling into what would become his love and career – driving and repairing Semi-trucks. He spent 10 years driving short and long-haul routes before finding himself at Penske working as a Diesel Mechanic for over 15 years. His time with Penske was extremely rewarding and fulfilling, and there he built cherished relationships with partners and coworkers, who he now calls friends.
Frankie also had a second love and that was of cooking. When he moved to Louisiana as a young adult, he said he “found flavor”! He began to develop his palate and refine his tastes as he experimented with different cooking styles and cuisines, settling into the passion for barbeque. He set out and built his own Pit and practiced his techniques using time, seasoning and fire management. Through trial and error, using many of those around his as test subjects, he was proud of what he was able to accomplish. Feeding people brought him great joy and put a smile in heart.
Frankie is survived by his loving wife, Sabrina Rule of Conroe, Tx.; parents Roger and Janet Rule of Pollok, Tx.; Brothers Kent (Brandy) Rule of San Angelo, Tx. and Gary Rule of Lufkin, Tx.; Sister Catrenia Reece of Longview, Tx.; nieces and nephews who have played an important and integral role in his life - Cara (Cody) Liles of Carthage, Tx.; Jenilee Reece of Longview, Tx.; Lane Rule of San Angelo, Tx.; Jeremey (Hannah) Rule of Tyler, Tx.; Jacob Updike of Craig, Co..; and his beautiful great nieces. Finally two very dear friends that were as brothers to him, Jeffrey Cundiff of Farmington, NM (friends for over 40 years) . and Juan Nuno of Conroe, Tx. (friends for almost 20 years). These along with many friends and coworkers whom he considered extended family, made his life full and complete.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Raymond Rule and Maxine Turner, and maternal grandparents Ethie Hull Sr. and Shirley Farnham. Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home on Saturday, February 1st at 1:00 p.m., immediately followed by Celebration of Life at 2:00 pm.
