Fred graduated St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas and from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
Mr. O'Connor's career took him across the country and destinations around the world. While working for Ross Perot's Electronic Data Systems or his father's Process Operators International, Fred amassed numerous adventures and lasting friendships along the way. His biggest accomplishments though was his services to the community such as being the Mayor of the City of Oak Ridge North, Treasurer and Executive Director of The Woodlands Town Center, serving as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for youth, working with the Kiwanis Club Special Olympics, or coaching YMCA sports teams.
Fred had a thirst for knowledge and spent his spare time researching topics of interest and reading books. He enjoyed sports throughout his life ranging from playing basketball for St. Thomas High School, baseball for Philippine national fast pitch teams, boxing, or being a decent left-handed golfer. Not only did he love participating in sports but enjoyed watching all types, especially his beloved Notre Dame football.
Those who knew Fred will remember him for his quick wit, infectious smile and laughter, and his ability and commitment to spreading kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift of making others feel important and leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
Fred was loved by all and blessed with wonderful parents, loving family, and close friends throughout his life.
