Gail was born in Victoria, Texas on August 25th, 1952, to Glenn and Georgia Shively (Staples). As the daughter of a petroleum engineer, the family lived and traveled throughout the United States. Gail settled in Houston, Texas after attending the University of Houston. An avid runner, Gail was often seen jogging trails close to home. She also enjoyed bowling and playing Bridge.
Gail was blessed with a son in 1980 and devoted her life to his upbringing. Gail married her love, Mark Couch, in 1998. Mark and Gail enjoyed travelling to Tres Ritos, New Mexico and she would often accompany him on his fishing trips. Later in life, Gail took joy in making special memories with her grandchildren. Gail had a passion for helping others and her kindness was often spread to provide many blessings. Her smile and positive outlook on life will be dearly missed by her loved ones.
Gail is survived by her only son, Justin (Kim) Bateman, grandchildren Taylor, Sophia, Bristol, mother Georgia, sister Glenda (Majid) Shoghi, brother Gregg (Terri) Shively and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Mark, father Glenn, brother Gary, and niece Tala. Gail will be fondly remembered by many friends.
Services will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe Texas, 77303, on Friday, August 2nd, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m.
