Born in Galveston, Texas, she graduated from Ball High School and married Ferdinand in 1941. After his return from the service they moved to Alta Loma, Texas in 1950 where they raised their family.
After Ferdinand’s illness in 1979, she and her parents relocated to Conroe to be near her daughter, Anita.
Gloria found true happiness when she began volunteering at the local hospital. She went on to add other entities to serve, such as, the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, Meals on Wheels (2 routes) and Birthright Pregnancy Assistance. She was also very active at her church, First Presbyterian Church of Conroe, where she headed up the annual Thanksgiving Basket drive, and prepared meals for families in crisis.
She was loved and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Preceded in death by husband Ferdinand F. Boddeker, father Adolf Bado, Mother Peggy Bado and Brother Robert Bado, Gloria is survived by daughters Peggy Honeycutt and Anita Lee (husband Doug Lee), and son Mike Boddeker (wife Mary Louise), and sister Aloha Engholm. She had 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, in Conroe, Texas on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral service for Gloria Boddeker will be held at the Cashner Colonial Chapel, on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 10:00am with interment following at Garden Park Cemetery.
