Harold Leonard Burford, 87, passed away on August 8, 2026. Born September 24, 1938, in Mineola, Texas, Harold was the son of Virgil and Mable Burford. Throughout his life, he was deeply beloved and cherished by those who knew him—steadfast in devotion to his family, quietly brave in the face of life’s demands, and hard-working in the way he showed up, day after day, for the people he loved.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Mable Burford, and his brother, Billy Burford. He is survived by his wife, Lynda Burford; his son, Dennis Burford and wife Leesa; stepdaughters Julie Carrell and husband Stephen, and Lauren Pasket and husband Mike; granddaughters Kathryn Gorrell, Alea Hendrick, Halley Rojas, and Kaylin Burford; grandsons Tyler Case and Jackson Carrell; and great-grandchildren Kenna Gorrell, Andrew Case, Broc Hendrick, Conway Carrell, Quinn Carrell, Eli Rojas, and Elsie Rojas, and brother, Robert Burford.
Harold and Lynda were married on September 22, 1984, beginning a partnership marked by loyalty, care, and enduring commitment. In the life they built together—and in the wider family that grew around them—Harold’s devotion was felt in steady, unmistakable ways, leaving a legacy of love that will continue through generations.
A man of strong loyalties, Harold was a huge Houston Astros fan and an avid collector, finding genuine enjoyment in the traditions, memories, and pride that came with following the team he loved. Those who shared that enthusiasm with him will remember how his interests brought people together and added warmth and familiarity to everyday life.
