Heather was a passionate sports fan; she knew college football better than anyone and could argue a play until the other person gave up. She would root for the Longhorns and wear an Alabama shirt. Alabama was HER team.
How to describe Heather? A young woman of many parts – a political junkie and Morning Joe fan, a ‘guys girl’ who was up for any adventure, an animal lover and rescuer, a sun lover, a crossword puzzle fanatic (in ink, no less), a country music and rock music fan, a great cook, a fierce friend and protector; she was empathetic beyond words. In other words, a contradiction.
Heather grew up in Conroe, Texas; her friends from school and soccer were forever friends. She moved to Austin, Texas as soon as she could and she fell in love with the city, the music scene, the diversity, and the friends she found there. She was a wonderful tour guide. Her second love was New Hampshire; the summers spent there with her grandparents and family were idyllic. If you were lucky to be her friend, it was for life. She would give you the shirt off her back if you asked (or one of the many in the back seat of her car, or shoes in the trunk); she was always prepared. Although vertically challenged, she was a little firecracker!
Dearest Heather, dear girl, you were loved beyond measure and you will be missed by so many.
Heather is survived by her mother, Anne Arndt; her brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Tina Arndt, nephews Lucas Arndt and Jacob Arndt; her grandmother, Alice Lofton; her uncle and aunt, Douglas and Nan Arndt; her cousins in Canada, Rodney Leland, Robert Leland and Elizabeth Leland; and her aunt, Margaret Leland (also in Canada). She is pre-deceased by her father, Calvin Arndt, and her uncle, Rod Leland. She is also survived by her dearest friends and ‘second family’, Hilarie Rodgers, Elyse Anderson, Terri and Gary Blevins and the rest of the Blevins crew. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 1:00pm in Garden Park Cemetery.
