Helen was born on August 9, 1937, in Moorhead, Mississippi, to the late Willie Mae Green and Jerry Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings: Louis Thomas, Henry Thomas, and Willis Jennings Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Lela Carter and Rosa Lee Rolle, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Helen was the proud and devoted mother of twelve children. One precious child passed away at birth, and she is survived by eleven children: Dean, Betra, Enell, Janice, Denise, Berta, Jolly, Betty, Ray, Tyhina, and Jerry. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of her life.
Affectionately known as “Helen Lee” to her siblings and “Mother Dear”, "Ma" and "Mom" to her children, Helen embodied the true spirit of strength, love, and resilience. She worked tirelessly to ensure her children and grandchildren were well cared for, never allowing them to go without. Through her unwavering faith in Christ Jesus, discipline, and perseverance, she instilled values that remain the guiding light for her family. Her legacy of love, sacrifice, and faith will continue to live on through the generations she so deeply nurtured.
Helen will be remembered not only for her devotion to family but also for her strength of character and the countless lessons she leaves behind.
A visitation for Helen will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, TX 77303, followed by a celebration of life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
