Howard was the oldest child born to Wallace W. McMillian and Sunny Z. Bagwell on September 30, 1958 in Lubbock, TX at Reese Air Force Base. After graduation from Tarkington High School where he was involved in athletics and FFA he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country. Being born into a military family, he wanted nothing more than to continue that tradition.
Howard served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force as an ammunition specialist and had multiple tours overseas in Germany, Korea, and the UK as well as stationed stateside in California, Nevada and Texas
His mother and father preceded Howard in death. He is survived by his siblings Kenneth McMillian, Wyndell McMillian, Kathy Barker, Deanie Murry (Ed), Dawn Dulworth, Lisa Dowdy, James McMillian, Heidi Swift and stepmother Diane McMillian. Best friend for over 45 years, Rick Westcott. While having no children of his own, he was blessed with many nephews, nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces, cousins and friends that were like family.
Before his health declined he enjoyed being an active member in the La Familia Motor Cycle Club, American Legion and the Conroe VFW. Howard will be remembered as a hard worker and selfless devoted son, brother and friend.

A visitation for Howard will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas. A graveside service and interment will occur Friday, February 18, 2022 at 9:15 AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, Texas.
