Ida DeRan passed away quietly November 6, 2018, of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Hal DeRan , her parents C.D. and Myrtle Hudson, two sisters and her brother. She was born on a farm in Hamlin, Jones County, Texas, November 14, 1921. Her employments included Burroughs Adding Machine Co., Coleman Air Base and The Agriculture Adjustment Administration.
She is survived by her sister Margie Williams of Austin, Texas and her daughter LoRene Godwin of Alvin, Texas. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 niece and 4 nephews. Ida was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church, Conroe, since 1946. It was there she met Diana Case, who became, for all intents and purposes, her other daughter.
Some of Ida’s special joys were as a volunteer on Benevolent Mission International trips with Dr. Downey Price and numerous travels. Other trips took her to Russia, Finland, Australia, Thailand, Fiji, Belize, Canada, Bali and Hong Kong.

Ida lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. She will be missed but fondly remembered and talked about by all who knew her. (We have the last word after all).
Visitation will be held at Cashner Funeral Home, in Conroe, Texas, on Sunday, November 11, 2018, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Funeral service for Ida DeRan will be held at First United Methodist Church of Conroe, on Monday, November 12, 2018, at 10:00am with interment at Garden Park Cemetery at 1:00pm.
