Jack Kenneth McDaniel, Jr., dedicated worker, thoughtful friend, and loving father of two, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021, in his home surrounded by loved ones at 52 years old. To his friends, colleagues and family members he is known as "Mac", “Captain Jack” and “Sparrow”
Jack Kenneth McDaniel, Jr. was born in El Paso, Texas on May 21, 1968, to parents Jack Kenneth McDaniel and Grace Agnes Merritt. Jack is survived by his son, Nathan J. McDaniel, and daughter, Madeline M. McDaniel, as well as his brother Shaun McDaniel, and sister Kathleen Rich.
Jack graduated from Pasadena High School in 1986, and continued his education at San Jacinto College. Jack began working at a very young age and was very passionate about his career. He spent over 30 years in the industrial coatings industry, with the last 15 years working as an offshore superintendent for Bilfinger Salamis. Jack would spend weeks at a time on the oil rigs off the Gulf of Mexico. His colleagues were family to him, and some of his life-long friends were made during his working career.
Jack enjoyed the open roads and was the proud owner of a custom Harley Davidson, as well as a collection of Harley Davidson tee shirts from around the world. Jack was a lover of all genres of music and would travel the world to see his favorite bands. Over the past few years his love for art and painting became an important part of life. His beautiful abstract paintings perfectly encapsulated his vibrant personality and strong emotions. His family members are proudly distributing his artwork to friends and family in exchange for a donation to the Texas Children's Hospital, an organization that Jack very often donated to and volunteered for.
Jack was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important. After moving to Spring, Texas over 7 years ago, he began attending Serenity where he loved to share his experiences with those whom he could help.
Jack will best be remembered by his endless love for everyone in his life. He was a giver, a man of God and a believer in peace. He lived with no regrets and loved with all he had.
A celebration of life for Jack will be held Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E. White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas 77304 with a reception to follow.
