I want you to know that I've been praying for you and your family. It broke my heart when Barbara told me about James. I was only around him a few times, but I recognized the sweet nature that he had. I'm so sorry for you and your family, I do believe he's with our Lord and Savior. He was tired, and I believe that he didn't want to burden you guys anymore. God takes all of that into account. I love you, and if you ever want to call, I'm here 🙏❤️

James was a good friend since I was a teenager 
We use to go to Concert Cliff Williams Denny Jones James Adam’s and myself.
 We went to see Jimi Hendricks,The Who and Jefferson Airplane to name a few. He was a great guy!

I have known James Adams for nearly sixty years and losing him feels like losing a part of my own family. My earliest memories of James are tied to my brother Clifton. Because James spent so much time with Clifton, he became part of our family. He developed a close relationship with my parents, George and Shirley Williams. Clifton passed in 2018, and James and I continued to call each other from time to time. 
My memories of James will always be of a young man who started with limited opportunities but refused to be defined by them. He worked hard, learned constantly, and built a life of purpose. He was a veteran. He shared a long and devoted marriage with Carla, raised two wonderful children, and delighted in his grandchildren. His Christian faith guided him through hardship, and I see that same faith in Carla—steady, loving, and strong. I know it will continue to anchor her and their family in the days ahead.
I will miss James the way I miss my brother. His presence shaped my life, my family, and my memories. May he rest in peace.

I have such fond memories of James, that it's hard to search the backroads of my mind  to recall just one.
  For several years he texted me every morning, often very serious, often just plain silly.  I think the Lord just let him know whether I needed scripture for comfort or peace, or whether  I needed one in between, or whether I needed something to make me laugh. Sometimes he sent me both.
  One of my favorites was a Gif featuring a huge banner saying, "I love you, Auntie."  The message needed no explanation.  I loved him, too.   As I searched my Gifs to top his, my phone alerted me to another message from James. 
  This time I saw a Gif of that same dog with a banner asking, "What's sup?"
  So I messaged him with the words, "Nothing much's sup here." I love, you nephew and behave!"

I worked with James in the early 90’s up to his retirement in 2009. Though those years,  James had many, many hard decisions - every year seemed like a roller coaster ride with happy and sad times. One thing for certain, James took pride in his job responsibilities and deeply cared about employees and co-workers. 
We, that were friends of James knew the importance and love he had for his family.  They were more important than anything to him.  In 2008, I met Carla when we we started bowling together. Carla is such a wonderful, loving, caring person and was so devoted to James - there’s no wonder why he loved her so.  My love, heart and prayers are with James’ family.

I met sweet James Adams 40 years ago when he and his precious wife, Carla opened their home to keep my tiny preemie son. I still hold the memories of him holding baby Taylor close to my heart.  Our friendship didn't stop when Taylor went to Montessori School. We continued staying friends because he had a passion for cars and I was in the automobile business. He bought fast cars and we always shared that bond. James would refer his coworkers to me at Buckalew Chevrolet, which created a community of friends who shared their love for James and cars. He wanted to make sure they found just the right vehicle. It was also a joy when his daughter came to work with us at the dealership. Having her there allowed James to hang out and be around cars. He truly loved that. 
James will be truly missed by everyone. Forever loved. RIP.

Carla & Family I am so sorry for your loss.  James was a long time friend and fellow employee starting with Brandt to NOV.  I was fortunate to work with James for 20+ yrs and my Husband Tom Adams and James worked together for Louis Brandt and beyond for 30+ yrs.  Tom passed 3 yrs ago and I know he and James are talking old times and lots of Oil Field Trash Stories of the Good Ole Days in HEAVEN.  James  was one of the Good Guys to his Family & Friends, a follower of Christ and he will be missed by all that knew him.

James N. C. Adams was more than just my neighbor. He was my friend, my mentor, and someone I came to think of as family. We met in June of 2023, and despite being about 40 years apart in age, we had so much in common. We were both veterans who had traveled the world, and every time we sat down together there was always another story to tell or another memory to share.

Over the years we spent holidays together, sat out front talking, and enjoyed each other’s company. James became like the grandfather I never had, and I loved him as if he were family. His kindness, wisdom, humor, and friendship made a lasting impact on my life.

My heart also goes out to his wife, Carla, who shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with him. Their love and devotion to one another were something truly special.

Although James is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Heaven has gained an angel, and those of us left behind have gained a lifetime of memories to cherish. He will never be forgotten, and he will be deeply missed.

Rest easy, my friend. Until we meet again.

For James my father in law
He welcomed myself and Colton into the family many years ago. He was kind and caring and he loved his family. The best times were the trips at the property in Palestine. The trip to Garner State park, where we all gathered as a family, playing cards, hiking, riding an inter tube down the river and kayaking. I love him and I will miss him .  I will always remember the times we all spent together.

My husband and I met when I was 14 years old at DeZavalla elementary in Channelview, Texas.  
From the very first time I met him I knew he was the one. He was the Beatle type of a young
Man. My daddy said if you are going to see my daughter you will have to cut your hair.  It wasn't even long but it touched his ears.  Of course he did cut it.  
We got married along with Glenn Robinson and Linda Brett.  The rest is history. There were bad times but mostly good times!
We had two beautiful children, James
David Adams born 1971 and Nicole Yvonne Adams born 1981
Finally settling down in Conroe, Texas.  We were married
56 years. He was truly the love of my life and for that I was very blessed.  He worked hard and would work even when he wasn't feeling well.  
We had a wonderful life together.  I was beyonded
blessed.

I met James in 1990 when I  went to  work for Drexel.  We had many talks in his office about work or just life in general.  He was a very religous man and a good friend to me.

In the past 5 years I had the opportunity to  visit  at his home and regardless  of  his  condition he always  seemed happy.   We laughed and reminisced about  our  years of working together.

He will be  truly missed but I  know  he's in Heaven and  visiting with all of our  work  family that have  gone on before  him.

So saddened to loose my precious brother in law who I’ve known since 3rd grade. My deepest condolences to my precious sister and her children and grandchildren because I know he was so loved

Buck and I are so sorry for the whole family of this loss of life. Prayers for them. This is a great family.God is in control of each and everyone of you you will make it through this horrific tradgey. Love you all

Dad ( James ) he was my mentor when I was younger we did a lot of fishing and hunting together. He was always there when I needed him either a helping hand or just advice. One time I begged my Dad to take swimming at the creek mind you it was winter time he took me anyway I would not get in so he went to push me so I grabbed his m we both went in it was so cold but I still laughed because he went with me.

I’m going to miss our music jams and movie watching ,and  our deep conversations about nothing . Enjoy meeting up with everyone up there and save a ride for me ,because I know you are enjoying your freedom of having your mobility back. I will always miss and love you and can’t wait to see you again in our Lord’s grace.

My wonderful brother. We have had so many beautiful memories over the years. Growing up with you was one thing I will always cherish. Our childhood got us in lots of mischief at times but we sure had fun.  I will hold the memories close to my heart and one day we will be reunited. Watch over us all from Heaven and walk with Mom and Dad in the beautiful gardens. 
I will always be proud of having you as my brother! 
You are whole again ,out of pain and can  dance with the Angels! Hallelujah
