On July 15, 2026, James went home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of love, strength, and devotion.
James shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Carla Adams. Together they built a family rooted in love, faith, and commitment.
He was preceded in death by his Granny Bants and “Mom” Shirley Williams; Father, Lester Eguene Adams; Mother, Jane Eva Banta/Adams; Brothers Jerry Adams and Cliff Williams.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 56 years, Carla Adams; his son, James David Adams; his daughter, Nicole Yvonne Adams; and his cherished grandchildren, Nolan James Adams, Zeke Leo Murley, Antonio "Tony” Murley, and Colton Carnes. Those also left to treasure his memory are sisters Elizabeth McCullen, Joanne Bassham and husband Jerry, Barbara Edmonson, Peggy Brown and husband Bill, Elsie Arnold and husband Steven, Kathy Soto, Debra Gwin and husband Henry and his brothers Michael Adams and Charles Adams.
James had a passion for motorcycles, fast cars, and simply enjoying life. He loved adventure, laughter, and spending time with those he loved. James was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him paraplegic. Although he faced tremendous physical challenges, he met them with remarkable courage, determination, and resilience. His strength inspired everyone who knew him.
Above all else, James will be remembered for his love for his family, his perseverance through hardship, and the impact he had on the lives of those around him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort in the love he gave, the memories we shared, and the hope of being reunited with him again one day.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
A visitation will be held at First Baptist Conroe, 600 N Main St, Conroe, Texas, on July 29, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am. He will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery.
