James Daniel Goulding
November 6, 1943 – November 5, 2018
James Daniel Goulding passed away on November 5, 2018 in Conroe, Texas. He was born on November 6, 1943 in Dallas, Texas. James attended catholic school and later joined the United States Air Force and was stationed in San Francisco, California. He stayed in California for years, traveling the west side of the county. Beatnik, if you will, with an intense love for jazz music, he began collecting vinyl classics and built an appreciation and in depth knowledge of the audiophile community. Jim met Vickie in Dallas, Texas and was married in the rose gardens. Shortly after, Melissa came in 1980, completing their trio. Mr. and Mrs. G opened their doors to all the neighborhood kids, sharing popsicles and stories of laughter of love. Jim often played records for Melissa’s friends throughout her childhood hoping to spread his enthusiasm for music onto others. “The music room”, with its eggplant colored walls was where Jim spent hour’s fine tuning his equipment to perfect tone and soon patented a diffraction reduction device for box speakers, birthing diffractionbegone.com. He was even published in Audiophile Magazine, https://audiophilereview.com/affordable-speakers/diffraction-be-gone-rocks.html and received The Absolute Sounds Golden Ear Award in 2008. Jim is survived by his daughter, Melissa Drue Goulding. Arrangements under the direction of Cashner Funeral Home.
