

James Ernest Miller, a devoted family man, a proud Army veteran, and a respected VP of Sales & Purchasing in the oil and pipe industry, passed away surrounded by love. He lived a full and complete life, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, wisdom, wit, and unwavering care for those he cherished.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janie Sue Miller, daughter Jamie Michelle Miller and his parents, Lee & Verna Miller. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Joni Garnett and Rhonda Boyd, his loving sisters, Jean Pever and Judy Ramey, and his adoring grandchildren, Gage & Grant Garnett, Hunter and Delaney Boyd.
A man of many passions, James found great joy in farming and gardening, nurturing the land with the same dedication he gave to his family. He also treasured the camaraderie of a good poker game, sharing laughs and strategy with dear friends. His wisdom was ever-present, as no daughter could leave the house without hearing his steadfast reminder: “Wear your seatbelt, them ole streets are slick.”
James lived with integrity and kindness, earning the deep respect of his family, friends, and colleagues. His legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering devotion—a life well lived, and a man well loved.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 10:00 am, at Copeland Chapel Cemetery.
