James Atwood Stroud III

James was born on February 5, 1959 in Jennings, Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his father James Atwood Stroud,Jr. , mother Martha Sue Hopkins Stroud and niece Danielle Martin.

James is survived by his sister Vicki Lynn Stroud and husband Westley Smith; brother Brian Von Stroud and wife Phyllis Martin; nephews Christopher Gunter, wife Trisha, and their children Paisley, Emma, and Adelyn; Justin Gunter, wife Linda, and their son Oliver Atwood; Jared Martin, wife Tiffany, and their children Avery and Jared Jr.; niece Ally Davis, husband Joey; numerous family and friends.

James had two special daughters that he loved very much Taylor Horne and her children Lucy, Annabelle, and Brazos; and Chelsea Laws and her son Vladimir.

James graduated from Spring High School in Spring, Texas. He loved playing football there. He worked as a Master Trim Carpenter for most of his career. James moved to Ft. Worth for some time, where he worked in ranching and spent lots of time at Billy Bob’s working with bulls. He loved the cowboy life.

After the passing of his father in 2003, he moved back to Spring to be closer to family and friends. James became very involved with the Spring Group, where he was a mentor to his fellow younger members. He loved riding his Harley, the wind in his face, and being a member of the North Houston Chapter of the Bandidos. He loved his family, brothers, and friends. He always enjoyed cheering LSU Tigers football games.

James loved the Lord and would help anyone in need; he had the biggest heart.

James was well loved by his friends and family. He will be greatly missed; he kept us all on our toes!

Visitation will be on Friday, August 28, 2020, Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303, at 5:00pm-7:00pm.

Funeral Service will start at 11:30am on Saturday, August 29th, Cashner Funeral in the Colonial Chapel, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. Internment will follow at 2:00pm, Calvary Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21723 Aldine Westfield Road, Humble, Texas 77338.
