Janet was born in Rochester, New York on March 18, 1937 to James Erne and Vivian Amelia Cashman where she grew up and later moved to Penn Valley, PA. She is also preceded in death by husband Wolfe E. Springer and husband Edward W. Curtis.
Janet is survived by her sisters, Judy (Greg) Herr, Virginia Mary (Dennis) Woods and Joanne Rennert, 3 sons; James E. Springer and wife Jacqueline of Montgomery, Texas, Christopher D. Springer of Rhode Island, Andrew K. Springer and wife Kathrine of Irvine, CA. and her four grandchildren; James Springer, Jr., Rachel Springer, Sarah Springer and Lauren Springer.
Janet graduated from Lower Merion High School and immediately started working for the Exxon Corporation in Bala Cynwyd, PA before marrying. During these early years, she was active in the Jaycees in Simsbury, Ct. and Women in Construction, during her work career in Texas and California. Throughout her life, she had the opportunity to see many parts of the country while residing in other states including Virginia, Rhode Island and Oregon. As part of her hobbies, she enjoyed hiking, camping, cooking and dancing. She was an accomplished Bridge player, learning from her mother and also enjoyed sewing which came in handy raising three boys. She personally enjoyed social gatherings as well as planning and hosting parties. Janet was also active in her church community which allowed her to be around family and friends.
She was a loving mother and someone that would always be there to help a friend.
Services will take place at Arlington National Cemetery to be scheduled at a future date.
